Dynamo Dojo takes you from complete beginner to Dynamo ninja. Using a project-based approach, you’ll learn how to automate Revit fast.

You'll learn my exact process for creating Dynamo tools. You'll also learn the important concepts–without bogging you down with meaningless jargon.

Each week, you will focus on completing a specific project in Dynamo. Projects range from importing Excel data, creating a parametric tower, to generating sheets and views. At the end of each lesson, you’ll have a fully functioning Dynamo tool you can use immediately.

By the end of the program, you will have a toolbox that will save you at least an hour of work each week.

What you will learn

As a Founding Member of Dynamo Dojo, you will receive 12 months of access to the learning platform. The first course, Fundamentals, will teach you everything you need to know to create your own Dynamo scripts. Below is an outline of what you will learn throughout Dynamo Dojo Fundamentals:

Module 1: Getting Started with Dynamo

Alright, let's get started! In this module, you will learn:

The basic Dynamo data types and when to use them
The fundamental operations and math functions you can perform on these data types
How to use conditional logic to build intelligence into your scripts

Module 2: Create Revit Geometry

Want to create model elements fast? In this module, you will learn:

How to create walls and structural framing members using Dynamo
How to select elements in the model
How to get parameter values from elements
How to filter elements by parameter value

Module 3: Export Parameter Data

Data shouldn't live solely in your Revit. It's time to set it free! In this module, you will learn:

How to select elements in the Revit model.
How to get parameter data from those elements.
How to export that data to an external file like Excel.

Module 4: Create Revit Elements from Excel

Now that you know how to export data, let's learn how to read data back into Revit. In this module, you will learn:

How to read data from Excel into Dynamo.
How to create and manage lists inside of Dynamo.
How to create sheets and views using Dynamo.

Module 5: Insert and edit families

It's family time! In this module, you will learn:

How to get family types from the model.
How to insert family instances using Dynamo.
How to get and set parameter values.

Additional courses covering intermediate, advanced, and expert topics will be released later this year. As a Founding Member, you will get immediate access to the courses as they are released.
